With over 10 years of experience in information technology (IT) and cyber security, Mr. Fried has a solid background in networking, protecting on-premise and cloud environments, and validating controls through purple teaming. He is also an experienced professor, teaching cyber security for 7+ years at the community college level, and participating in grants to encourage under- represented populations to get into cyber security. Mr. Fried entered the security field in an IT rotational program, and later worked as an analyst, engineer and Chief Security Officer. Past roles have involved joining or starting security programs in the wake of significant security challenges to improve the identification, assessment, prioritization, and response to risks in complex environments for security teams ranging from 1- 100 people. He has more recently lead teams to implement and validate controls to mitigate the spread of ransomware through micro-segmentation, purple teaming, business continuity planning, securing public cloud and devsecops.
