Emilio Oropeza
Senior Security Architect, Mandiant
Emilio is a Senior Security Architect at Mandiant (Google Cloud), part of the Security Transformation Services practice, and additionally supports the Office of the CISO for Ibero-America. Emilio advises organizations across industries on Cloud Security, Secure Development, and AI Security, helping them build resilient security programs against advanced threats. With over a decade of experience in Information Security, he has led threat modeling engagements, cloud security architecture reviews, and security transformation initiatives across financial services, retail, and critical infrastructure clients throughout Latin America. His current practice centers on three disciplines reshaping enterprise risk: Cloud Security across the three most widely adopted cloud providers in the industry; Secure Development and DevSecOps; and AI Security.
Throughout his career, Emilio has held roles as Ethical Hacker, Security Engineer, and Cybersecurity Lead, shaping security strategies and building high-performing teams across multiple industries. Emilio also serves as an undergraduate lecturer in Secure Development at ITESO and as a graduate faculty member at the Escuela Militar de Ingeniería, where he teaches Cyberdefense Operations within the master's program. He is an active contributor to the Cloud Security Alliance and a recurring speaker at international events including Ekoparty and BSides.
