Dan Wire has more than 20 years of professional communications experience, with more than a decade focused on the cybersecurity industry. In his role as head of the crisis communications practice at Mandiant, he works with clients to develop proactive communications strategies to manage business risk during a cyber security event, and help manage brand reputation, audience communications and messaging while actively experiencing a cyber incident. Dan joined FireEye/Mandiant in 2014 - as part of and eventually leading - the corporate communications and brand marketing teams. He has been supporting Mandiant clients with crisis communications services since joining Mandiant, building an informal practice for incident response clients. In 2020, Dan led the communications response for FireEye during the Solarwinds breach by APT29 - a Russia-nexus espionage group - bringing the experience and lessons from years of client engagements to the FireEye response. In 2022, Dan started a new service practice at Mandiant focused on helping organizations build and implement communications strategies for cyber security programs. In close partnership with Mandiant incident responders and the threat intelligence team, he helps clients use communications to inform and manage risk before, during or after a cyber event.
